Toronto Joins Clinton's Fight Against Climate Change

Morning Brew: August 3, 2006

Your morning news roundup for Thursday, August 3, 2006:

We're not doing too well on the whole Kyoto Protocol stuff, so maybe we'll do better in fighting climate change with Bill Clinton as the head of the pack.

Of course, Kyoto's not the only thing we're falling short on: >apparently we're pretty bad at keeping our AIDS relief promises too.

The bomb squad was called in last night to examine a suspicious package on Queen West.

A teenager has been sentenced to 30 months in jail for crashing a party. That, and stabbing another teen to death while he was there.

Cameras monitoring the streets during Caribana may make the place feel safer, but will it make the party a little tamer too? Because that won't be good.

Sadly, conflicts across the ocean can spill over to our side of the world as well, as the JCC has beefed up security because of the current Middle East tension.

The temperature may have been high, but a lot of cab drivers have been keeping their windows low instead of using the AC. Which makes sense to me: you want AC, ask for it.
