Thursday Radar

Perhaps something's in the T.O. water -- or the icecubes, for that matter -- but there have been a lot of odd news items floating around today. Thought I'd share a few highlights even if they aren't entirely Toronto-centric:

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issues a national recall on Cadbury chocolate eggs after pieces of plastic were found within them. One injury has already been reported. We should have known something was fishy when bunnies started laying eggs.

In unrelated clucking, Sir Paul McCartney is in PEI speaking out against seal hunting and urging PM Harper to care: "Previous Canadian governments have allowed this heartbreaking hunt to continue despite the fact that the majority of its citizens ...are opposed to it." Somewhere in Ottawa, Harper is going "Paul who?" and reminiscing about his high school days in the Apathy Club while everyone else was diggin the brit invasion.

And another idea likely-to-fall-on-deaf-ears comes from Reading Toronto who are proposing we build a mountain for our city. Perhaps we can rescue the seals from hunting greed and open up a massive seal preserve on the new hill?
