Highway 401 could be considered a energy resource. Some students from Centennial College just raised an anemometer (a device that measures force and speed of wind) beside the 401 at the college's Scarborough campus. A wind turbine may appear at the location as early as the summer of 2006.

This kinda caught me off guard as I generally despise cars, so now what I'm supposed to do now that a highway can act as a power source? I'll still despise their exhaust.

Centennial is developing a renewable-energy program that will train students in renewable energy installation. The college also intends to augment the wind-powered generator with other
alternate energy sources, such as solar panels and biofuel electrical
generators according to the CBC.
